Three of our members are contributing and then I’m going to talk about two masses of the French School separated by over 600 years\, the first written in the 1300s and the second completed in the mid 20th century. We’ll have a break at the usual time and then we’ll be joined by Jacob Garside who has played cello for us on many occasions. \n\n\n\nJacob is a distinguished musician and a specialist in Baroque music. He and I will talk through some of his favourites from that period. I’m sure he will be both entertaining and informative!

Tonight is going to be quite different to usual in that we are being joined by Jeremy Summerly and his choral society for an evening of exchange. Jeremy and singers from Mayfield will talk about their choir\, its history and usual life\, and we’ll do the same about NCS. If there’s someone who has been a member for a long time and would be happy to join me in saying a few words please could you let me know sometime today? So please get your scores ready – you should still have them from the spring term I think! If not\, there are several versions available on the internet. It’ll be an interesting affair; Jeremy and I will take a keyboard each (plus a tenor and bass part) and we’re delighted that our long suffering other halves\, Helly and Sophie\, have agreed to help out by providing the sop and alto lines.
